Plus, I couldn't help but notice that a lot of the "applications" you mention aren't. Like for example, the IXI X.desktop File Manager for X Window System, which is a sad commentary in and of itself on the state of X workstations; there's simply no market for such a thing in Windows, the Mac or NeXT because it's part of the environment.
