You can get the sources to the X 11R4 library on expo.lcs.mit.edu via
anonymous FTP...  It is BIG... It requires some work to make compile
on the NeXT machine.  If you plan to rebuild emacs and such, then it
is worth getting now (if you have the GNU sources).

BTW Plethora.media.mit.edu is no longer carrying the GNU sources for
the NeXT being out of date.
