There is a package called "Freedom of Press" which is a Postscript interpreter
for many printers, including the HP Paintjet.  This is supposed to allow you
to do exactly what you are asking.  We just got a copy, but I have not had a
chance to install it and try it out.  I will post a note as soon as I do.
