Message-ID: <1991Jan22.023550.12413@ccu1.aukuni.ac.nz> Date: 22 Jan 91 02:35:50 GMT Distribution: comp Organization: University of Auckland, New Zealand. Lines: 23 I am working on a 4D/240 running 3.3.1 soon to go to 3.3.2. I am trying to write an exabyte tape consisting of several logical volumes. i.e. calling several programs that write the tape using the nr(v) drivers. What I want is: 1/ label first file is a label identifying the tape 2/ directory second file is a single unix file which describes all the other files on the tape. 3.../ bru or tar files. I can write the label correctly but when I try to dump a single file onto the tape (using either bru, tar or dd) I get an "I/O error". If I dump a whole directory instead of a single file every thing works. Can any body help? Thanks, Russell. -- Russell Fulton, Computer Center, University of Auckland, New Zealand.
