I have used Poorman's pmfont to generate a Chinese font for use with TeX/LaTeX. However, when printed, the inter-character spacing between Chinese characters is a bit too wide, and the problem is the font. But I don't want to spend many hours messing with METAFONT because I am entirely new to it. So, to solve my problem (in a dirty way) and also to satisfy my curiosity, I would like to know how to change the inter-character spacing in TeX/LaTeX. Thanks for any sugges- tions. I'll post a summary if there are enough interests. Pinghua -- +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | M. Pinghua Young, P. O.
