There is a bug report (for 4.0 only!) and the cause is any NFS error, timeout, etc. What has been stated before is true; you must redirect stderr to somewhere or else NFS errors will cause the automounter to hang. /usr/etc/automount 2> /dev/console Solves the problem. -- Kenneth H.
