The solution is to: a) Remove the offending application b) Change the creator id of the offending appl with ResEdit then rebuild the desktop file (hold down option-command as the Mac restarts). This will get rid of your problem and cause all you FORTAN appl icons to revert back to the defaultMac application icon. Randy Geels
