It is WAY BETTER than I expected!!! Sure there is snow, sure it is slow, but there are times when I want 256 colours and this is the ticket. THANK YOU PARADISE! It is a little bizarre to watch sometimes, in wingif the image starts from the bottom then flips over when loaded. Games like asteroids (atmoids) are pretty pathetic due to snow. Windows Paint looks good in 256 mode and Print Screen captures 256 colours so you can paste into paint from wingif or whatever. Just so the world doesn't get too excited and spend the net downloading the 470K file, there is snow EVERY time the video updates. Yup, even when you move the critter, er, mouse. It isn't fast, but I am stuck with an on-board paradise (Commodore PC50 II) (DELL machines have same I gather) that I cannot expand the RAM. When it looked like there wasn't going to be a driver for 256x400x256 I started eyeing the mother board to see if I could hack on more video RAM. Seemed like a waste to disable the video and spend hard cash on a slightly better VGA for the few times I REALLY NEED (not the want times!) 256 colours. One day I will get a Hercules graphic station card or the equivalent hot graphics board to give 2**24 colours etc... but until then I will live with snow. Again, THANKS PARADISE!! tj .
