Does anyone have comprehensive references as to who invented/developed the
LED? While many components (transistor and IC's) are covered in books and
texts; the LED seems to be missing. It would be interesting to read about
the research that led to the LED. Similar situation regarding liquid
crystal technology. We got our first LED in about 1974 for $10.
