Keywords: Windows 3.0 smartdrv Message-ID: Date: 23 Jan 91 07:56:36 GMT Sender: news@rwthinf.UUCP Distribution: comp Lines: 19 Windows can reduce the allocated memory currently in use by Smartdrv. Some other Programs, as Hyper-Cache, also implement this feature. Is there a program out there (or source or documentation) which allows to do the same thing out of own programs or from the command line of DOS? The background of this request is that I would like to free temporarily some Extended Memory for use by other programs and reassign it later to smartdrv again without rebooting. It would be sufficient if Smartdrv can be persuaded to return part or all of its allocated memory to the XMS-handler.
