I have a T1600, not a T2500, but I ran into a similar problem. I called up Telebit tech support (1-800-TELEBIT) and this is what they told me. This information may or may not help you. - First, figure out whether you're using "pass-through" security (you're not in this case apparently) or "call-back" security. - There is a "set password" command (~U on a T1600). This command sets a security password for administrative purposes ONLY-- it's used when you try to CHANGE other passwords. It is NOT the same password that you type when you call in. - When you select pass-through security, the modem will accept ANY of the passwords entered for the callback numbers. You don't necessarily have to have a callback number associated with the password, but you have to have at least one password in the "N" list. When you select call-back security, the password that you type determines which number is called back. Each number in the "N" list should have a different password associated with it. The password is separated from the number by enclosing the password in backslashes (e.g. \PASSWORD\). - Do not have both modems set to use call-back security; change the calling modem to non-secure mode first. Otherwise, you may get into a call-back loop. I haven't tried this for myself yet, but this information should provide at least a few hints. Hope it helps...
