There are currently 6 members of the group working on Machine Translation, applied lexicography and terminology (sublangauge analysis) and fundamental issues in semantic representation for natural language in the context of MT. There are also a number of doctoral students working on related topics, as well as temproary visotrs from other European research groups involved in similar work. Ideally, we are loking for someone to participate both in our R and D work within the continuation programme for Eurotra and our research work on semantics (and MT). We are particularly keen to recruit someone with both a solid background in Formal Semantics and a knowledge of Spanish, Dutch or German. However we are interested in hearing from interested individuals offering a background in linguistics, computational linguistics, computer science or lexicography - knowledge of any EEC language in addition to English would be useful. Appointment initially until October 1991 with excellent prospects for renewal until at least December 1992, on the RA1B/RA1A scale, as appropriate given age/experience.
