Rozas and Mark (markf) at altdorf.ai.mit.edu !! thank you very much for the information about invoking system-calls in MIT_SCHEME - programs; i have just tested your recommended code and it works really fine ! my problem was to establish a rendezvous-like mechanism between two processes (one PROLOG program and a SCHEME program) for information handling, and all i could do yet was a "busy-wait" for the process that should better block istelf on a semaphore; with the system-call procedure i should be able to do this more proper and fast (for example with the UNIX signal-mechanism i hope). sorry that i wrote in german language since the years in school are far away, but i really thought you were located in Swizzerland (of course, every student of computer-science in germany has heard about your famous MIT and so I!). i hope the syntax and orthography of this text are not TOO wrong, sincerly yours, Thorsten Hasbargen !!!
