When it fails to be sent, it just sits in my drafts folder and I don't know if this is related. But when are setup to submit mail by SMTP and the system load average is high, 'sendmail' may refuse to accept the mail. With 6.7 I find the effect is that 'push' or 'send' sits there periodically retrying. (Must be a bear if you don't use push.) This raises the following question: What exactly are the benefits of using SMTP with mh? I know of two disadvantages. One I have listed above. (Without SMTP, sendmail will at least queue the message for later delivery.) The other is that with SMTP, sendmail will not look up your full name in the password file if you didn't define a signature. (This is because the envelope sender and the header sender do not compare equal - one of them is and the other is not.) -- =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*= Neil W.
