Although the reason for the trip had nothing to do with MINIX, I observed that there is a large and growing MINIX user community in Japan. Articles about MINIX have repeatedly appeared in Japanese computer magazines of all kinds. I also met a number of Japanese MINIX hackers who were certainly very enthusiastic. I have sort of made an attempt to go through all the news I missed. There is is much ... Two items caught my eye. (1) An ESDI driver, and (2) mroff.
