What do you mean by not accepting 809b. We Use appletalk routing
on our cisco's extensively. We also use bridging for Novell for 
now, eventually we will rout that too. On our Novell bridges
we succesfully filter out ip packets.

So , please supply more info re: what commands do you enter, and , 
what version of the software are you running and on what
box ???
