Oliver Laumann's "screen2" program from the comp.sources.unix archives perhaps---but note it only runs on Berkeley/Sun systems. I've used it to turn Hewlett Packard terminals into what seems like a vt100 for those nasty VAX/VMS vt100 specific applications. It even lets you suspend, logout, go home, login, reconnect... and your cursor is right where you left it! (assumes same terminal type at work & home). Multiple windows too.
