On the '386, the NS 16550AFN UART chips have a 16-byte FIFO which greatly reduces interrupt overhead the '386 UNIX. I have it running with a serial driver that supports the FIFO buffer. Is there any reason why the Amy cannot support the 16550AFNs? I do fine with a HST at 19.2K baud.
