It does what _I_ >want. I thought so too, until I started using the VI clones available for the Amiga. The VI I use at work does what _I_ want. VI clones at home do what _they_ are capable of. I haven't seen one yet that handles my most used function, :map. This function makes up for 99% of the programmability of Emacs and it's why I never switched over (too much work for an extra 1%).
