Yes, VLT can be used to auto-answer and do more or less secure
downloading. See the example "remote.vlt" of how to send a command
to a remote VLT. It is secure because it requires an ENV variable
called SystemPassWord to be set on the remote VLT.

I am working on a new release which supports Matt Dillon's FIFO pipes
and I will include a BBS in ARexx (very basic, but it has most of the
commands one expects).

To answer your questions:
1. To get the docs for the current release (4.846) write to
   Publications Department, SLAC bin 68, PO Box 4349, Stanford CA 94309.
   Ask for SLAC Report 370, "A Valiant Little Terminal - A VLT User's Manual"
   by Amanda Weinstein.
   I don't personally send them out (at least not usually).


2. No, you cannot hide the review window behind the main window in VLT
   when on a custom screen, because it is a backdrop window. This will
   not be changed...
