I remember hearing that Incognito went out of business. Is this true, or were they consumed by another company? The phone number they give in the manual had a (313) area code, which is SouthEast Michigan/Detroit area. (I don't want to call right now.) The manual also said to send in a registration card, but there was none in the package. If Incognito is still around in any way, shape, or form, please let me know. As far as my first impressions of the package, it seems to be fairly well put together. The manual seems [mind you, this is at first glance] friendly, but has no in-depth sections or sections on specific techniques. It does have sections about what makes color, how factor X affects surface Y, reflection, refraction, etc., etc., etc., which looks like interesting and may even be helpful. In one of the appendicies, it has the format of the object files. I could probably use this to write a program to convert files to & from DKBTrace... Looks like it will be fairly easy to create objects. It has an object/scene editor that appears, if only at first glance, complete. I like how it draws a line-drawing of the picture before beginning the ray tracing. All in all, the program in fairly slow -- slower, I'd say, than DKBTrace. It does, though, allow you to render at many different resolutions. Even if Incognito is out of business, the program was worth the $20.00 bargain bin price the computer store had it for. Someone let me know about Incognito, okay?
