Lines: 30 Hi all, I'm not a real whiz at HD technology/terminology, but I 'discovered' something that I *thought* was not supposed to be possible concerning some removeable media (SyQuest) hard drives. I have a SyQuest hooked up to my A3000.... and I was hearing a strange noise coming from the drive after I first bought it, so I returned it for repair... They changed the entire PC board, or so they tell me, to the latest revision.... So when I get it back, I crank it up and discover that the Amiga knows when I remove the disk! The drive's icon left the WB screen.... and when it put the disk back in, the icon re-appeared! Sounds good to me! Problem is, it doesn't ALWAYS work right.... it always seems to know when I remove the disk, but doesn't usually know when I put it back! And I don't know how to tell Amy that I have incerted a cartridge.... I've tried diskchange, mount, and every- thing else I can think of. (This is all under 2.0 BTW) Under 1.3, I manage my disk swapping with the diskchange command, and all seems to go well. What is going on here? How come Amy doesn't always notice the cartridge being inserted? Why does it sometimed do it at all? Most importantly, how can I inform Amy that I've changed the disk in my SyQuest under 2.0 since 'diskchange' doesn't seem to work? Thanks.... -Mike-
