I was using the resolution of the only touch screen monitor I knew about for the AMIGA that works over a serial or parallel port. I called the manufacturer, they said there was a mistake, x240 should be x400. Elographics and MicroTouch also make touch screens, but they work over a serial port or the PC/AT bus. The videodisc player needs the serial port. >3000 is perfectly capable of hooking up to a VGA monitor and displaying >noninterlaced 640x480 graphics directly? (actually I think it is something >more than 680x480 including overscan). I need genlocked output from the 12-bit RGB slot and composite video. From talking with Commodore, the higher resolution(ECS) you refer to will NOT work with the genlock. So in a non-interlaced mode the best I can get is 320x200 with 64/4096 colors or 640x200 with 16/4096 colors. >>BLOW away the SONY configuration, but the final display has to look >>great with no flicker. > >The 3000 will only flicker if you choose to display it on an interlaced >display or you require an NTSC signal. NTSC flickers, so if you eliminate >flicker you are no longer generating NTSC video. I was more concerned with the graphics looking good. With the previous mentioned colors/resolutions available, I'm not sure that's possible. I will address that question to comp.sys.amiga.graphics . >Then use the VGA compatible output from the 3000 to drive the same >genlock that you would have used with the MS/DOS system. >--Steve ._||__ DISCLAIMER: All opinions are my own. > Warren v\ *| ---------------------------------------------- > V {uunet, sun}!convex!swarren; swarren@convex.com Let's say, I COULD use the VGA output from the 3000. I know there are 2 or 3 PC/AT slots on the 3000, but don't I need a bridgeboard to use those slots ? Is the 3000 able to address any PC/DOS boards directly ? How does the 12-pin RGB output from the 3000 get to PC genlock ? Someone help me out here. -Ron
