HI! Hopefully soon in the future, we'll see great GS specific programs and/or games from you?! (yes, I'm gonna be doing my part too.. I'm starting to learn the ToolBox) > Well are you interested in quality or quantinty? Sure you could write To be honest, BOTH.. Obviously I want quality programs... But it's great to have a big selection (especially when it comes to games) >Finally, I've got a stupid questions to ask, but it needs to be asked... If I >have a 1600K Ram Disk, How can I install GS/OS on to it so I can boot from it? >I've copied the files and even tried installing it but when I try booting >from Ram Disk, the computer says "Not a startup device." Not a startup device?! Weird, when I have problems with that, I usually get/got a $0028, error reading name from boot device or something that makes NO SENSE.. Hey, I've got 5.04!! I should try it!! But don't INSTALL it.. Just use DiskCopy GS or some other quick diskcopy program to copy the whole DISK straight to /ram5.. will mean you won't have to boot ORIGINALLY from a floppy (or hard drive).. But as I said above, I used to get that error... It worked for a while, and maybe it was something fixed in 5.04! (hopefully) You say when you try booting from it... You do mean set the Control Panel selection in the STARTUP DEVICE to RAMDISK, right?? (I know, this is a very stupid question on my part)... It seems you -might- use something like ProSel's utilities to "Boot slot 5" with no disk in and thinking it'd go to the ramdisk or something... Sometimes dumb questions help elicit the problem... (Is that a good rationalization for asking a dumb question??? heh) -- /Apple II(GS) Forever! unknown@ucscb.ucsc.edu MAIL ME FOR INFO ABOUT CHEAP CDs\ \WRITE TO ORIGIN ABOUT ULTIMA VI //e and IIGS!
