NO! NO! The chassis of any monitor can conduct high-voltage and/or high amperage signals through you and KILL! Your continued survival is no reason to urge others to potentially dangerous actions. NEVER work on a monitor when it is plugged in unless you REALLY know what you are doing. Even unplugged monitors may carry dangerous charges in capacitors for quite some time as well.
