I have read a book from Kasravi, called 
shiegari. As far as I understood It 
severely criticized the figures like Ali and
also the prophet's wife Ayesheh. He argued through
quotations from the Islamic thinkers of mostly
14-15 century that Ali was a man who contrary to
what Shiites believe was in fact a rich man.
Ali gave his daughter the famous "Fadak gardens"
He also said that Ayesheh had numerous affairs
while being married to Mohammad.

Kasravi was assassinated  by the "Faddaian-e Eslam"
a group simillar to the Moslem
