i have modems on my 540 with HP recommeded cable pinned as follows
           1 -- 1
           2 -- 3
           3 -- 8
           4 -- 8
computer   6 -- 20  modem
           7 -- 7
           8 -- 4
           9 -- 22
          20 -- 6
          22 -- 5
          23 -- 23

i am using the same cable betwixt a hayes and my 822, but i am having troubles.
the recommended cable is 92219Q but i do not know if that matches what i am
using.  thanks.
