A friend of mine has an XT compatible computer with a 5.25" floppy drive.

The drive seems to work as expected, except that it won't format the last
5 sectors of any disk.  (The disks format fine on other machines).  

Anyone have any ideas on what's wrong and/or how to fix it?  

The drive is about 3 years old, and hasn't been used much at all.  It has 
always had this problem.
