Yes, I can think of at least two ways. 

The first is to do 'Print Directory...' from Finder to a LaserWriter, but hold
down command-F (I _think_ that's what it is, I'm not sure). This will print to
a file instead of to the printer. However, since it's PostScript, I'm not sure
if you could extract the text from it easily.

The second (and easier) method is to use a little utility called FileList. This
will put the entire directory of all the files on your disc into a text file,
including pathnames, file Type, Creator, size and all the rest. You can use the
Pathname to filter out a _particular_ directory, and sort by whatever. Juggling
of the data is, I think, best done in FileMaker or Excel or something like
that.
