Speaking as someone who was programming IBM internals when Marty
himself probably was a mere suckling, I disagree.

Always risky to presume what someone else's needs are.  I doubt that
we "guys" are all "guys," or that our needs for a particular machine
can be so easily lumped into one phrase.  Our needs are probably as
diverse as we, ourselves, are.
