No I haven't bought any from MacCenter but I did call them up to find out their prices about 2 weeks ago. They say $35.00 / 1Mb is the price for > 100 ns access time SIMMs. If you need 80 ns SIMMs for IIci, their price is $41 - $45 (or something like that), which is a bit more expensive than Chip Merchant ($39 / 1Mb for 80 ns SIMM). If you really would like to minimize the cost, you should (i) Call them up and confirm on the price of the SIMMs with access time you need, (ii) Whether or not you need to pay sales tax, (iii) Whether or not they accept credit cards, if you'd like to use one. On my IIci (total 8 Mb), one half (4 x 1Mb) came from ChipMerchant and the other half from (4 x 1Mb) is from Technology Works; and all of them are working just perfect. At present it looks to me Chip Merchant offers the lowest price for 80 ns ones, but they don't accept credit cards (check, COD only), and in my case I have to pay the sales tax. Technology Works is more pricy, but they accept credit cards, and offer discounts for a BMUG member (which I am), and I won't have to pay the sales tax, because they are out of CA. So the total cost from those two vendors came out roughly equal. - Nobu Toge (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center) [My personal opinion/observations only!]
