It also quotes a comment made by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Robert Mosbacher, in which he congratulates NeXT Computer "on being the first American company to win this prestigious award". The NeXT system got selected from more than 1200 products from 391 different companies. I suppose this is true, but why hasn't NeXT Inc. said anything about this award (at least I haven't seen or heard anything).
