I ported NeWS to the 3000 before I ported it to the 4D line. 2. The 3000 port was never completed to product quality; in particular no documentation was ever done. 3. SGI never released this port because it determined that it needed to put its resources into other things that had higher priority than finishing the port. 4. The lack of documentation and consequent support issues forced SGI to decide to not release this version of NeWS to anyone. 5. To my knowledge the source for this port was never released to anyone. 6. NeWS ran extremely well on an 8 megabyte 3030. 7. The port is now old and musty.
