PLEASE email me (blian@nusdiscs.bitnet) and not him. Do not post to the newsgroup! I am very close to purchasing a MIPS Magnum 3000 as the UNIX platform for a bunch of transputers TRAMS on a B008-compatible motherboard. Both TRAMS (T800-20/2MB) and motherboard (TBX10) are by Mark Ware Associates. Of course, by implication, the Magnum has an AT bus slot. No DMA but that is not a real loss given the way IBM crippled DMA on the AT bus (or so I'm told). As far as I know, the MIPS/transputer combination is very rare. It looks like I have to write my own UNIX device driver to get host talking to motherboard's C012 link interface. If any one has already done this, I would very much appreciate a copy of the source if possible. An alternative would be for me to get hold of source of a driver written for some other flavour of UNIX. Incidentally, I would also welcome your experiences with Mark Ware stuff. Recommendations of alternatives also gratefully accepted. --bl _______________________________________________________________________________ Benjamin Y H Lian Email: blian@nusdiscs.bitnet Dept of Information Systems & Computer Science Tel: +65 - 7726277 National University of Singapore Fax: +65 - 7794580 Lower Kent Ridge Road Singapore 0511 Republic of Singapore
