This bug is a problem on the 3002 update, but is fixed in 3003.
The advertised workaround is to link like so:  xlf  *.o   -lc

ld -r -o cobjects .... abc.o -lc
and then link everything else:  xlf -o fort.ex cobjects.... f.o
