Burlington, VT Lines: 16 I've come across a Sony receiver. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work. It has a chip, STK3041, that is a combination stereo preamp and impedance detector. I think it has a problem but at $26 to replace, I can't just substitute (the receiver cost me $10!). After turning unit on, within 15 secs, the amplifier shuts down. The input to the stk3041 is still on. Can anyone provide circuit details of this chip? Who makes it? I'd like to try to defeat the impedance detector to see if I can keep the unit on. (I'm sure the problem is in the impedance detector circuit - but not necessarily in the chip). tnx, steve /------------------------------------------------------------------------\ > Steve Alpert (W1GGN) IDX Corporation Marlborough, Massachusetts < \--------------------------- sra @ idx.com ------------------------------/
