I recall that the Allies in WWII mounted massive bombing raids with the object of putting out of action the Ploesti fields in Romania. Is there historical data from this effort on the fires lit, how long they lasted, and what environmental effects they had? (Internet: buckland@staff.ucs.ubc.ca)
