Does anyone know of any good articles about implementing a Mac-like memory
management system with source code?

How about any useful information on heaps and maintaining free lists?
Info on double indirection, and garbage collection would also be useful.

I will summarize any responses I get to the net.  Authors and titles are
what I would like the most.  A short summary of the book or article will 
also help.
