But that's not important right now. Lines: 45 Date: 01-28-91 (09:10) Number: 1007 of 1007 (Echo) To: B.RODRIGUEZ2 [BRAD] Refer#: 991 From: JACK WOEHR Read: NO Subj: ANS FORTH TECHNICAL COMMI Status: PUBLIC MESSAGE Conf: FORTH (58) Read Type: GENERAL (+) -> I have to agree with David Petty's observation that the TC has -> avoided both objectivity and consistency in its decision criteria. -> Consistency, perhaps: the voting body changes composition each meeting. But the charge of "avoiding objectivity" is ad hominem. It doesn't really *say* anything. What objectivity? What is objectivity, agreeing with you, perhaps? -> As part of the residue of the Detroit meeting, I have a list of -> arguments which (when I offered them) were rejected as insufficient, -> but which were later used without dispute by others on the TSC. I missed Detroit, so along with your other readers, I am puzzled what the above paragraph means. What arguments, on what subjects, did you offer, and how were these arguments later used without dispute by others? Details, please! -> And -- perhaps the issue which has most damned the TC in my eyes -- -> when I proposed a set of quantifiable, objective decision criteria to -> the TC, they were rejected: not because I had proposed the wrong -> criteria (which I offered to change), but because the TC OBJECTED TO -> HAVING TO MEET ANY CRITERIA AT ALL. Oh, Brad, this has to be pure flame. The TC has *many* criteria it is pledged to meet. If you can give us a magic formula that we can follow by rote to manufacture the perfect standard, PLEASE hand it over and we will stand on our heads and chant it WILLINGLY, or whatever. =jax= "dpANS in 2Q91!"
