This is the same behavior I experienced the one time I used Elm with Sun's cmdtool (which I chalked up to cmdtool emulation deficiencies and resolved never to use Elm with cmdtool again ;-). With any other TERM setting -- i.e., under any other shell -- that I have used (sun, wy60, etc.) I immediately get the Elm prompt after short messages. This happens with any of {less, more, page} that I use for a pager, but not for builtin+, which Does the Right Thing. Does anyone know how I get the non-builtin pagers to do the right thing as well with Elm (they to do the right thing when invoked directly from the xterm shell ...)? -- alfred Internet: execu!sequoia!unisql!alfred@cs.utexas.edu UUCP: {uunet, cs.utexas.edu!execu}!sequoia!unisql!alfred
