Regarding the DeskWriter problem:

I have contacted Danniel about his problem and am working to help
straighten it out.  The blinking light errors are not documented
in the user manual, but this pattern sounds like the firmware ROM
is sometimes failing to checksum correctly, and other times, due to
"bad bits" is getting reset and then failing to checksum.  It would
be possibly a ROM or more likely a logic board interconnect problem.
