Summary: Is there such a thing? Keywords: A1000, controller Message-ID: <1991Feb1.071527.821@midway.uchicago.edu> Date: 1 Feb 91 07:15:27 GMT Sender: news@midway.uchicago.edu (News Administrator) Organization: University of Chicago Lines: 18 Does anyone have a harddrive connected to an A1000 and a Spirit board? If so, how did you do it? I have a 40 meg Quantum drive, which I would like to use with my A1000. However, my local dealer made a try today, and the Xetec controller will not work with the Spirit internal memory board I have installed. The only alternative would have been to buy the Xetec memory board as well and then all new memory chips as it uses SIMM's rather than the type of chips on the Spirit board. This simply struck me as too much to invest in an A1000 now. I would really like to keep my A1000 productive by adding a harddrive, so I would welcome any advice about getting the Spirit board to work with a controller of some kind - which would hopefully still be available.
