I always thought Commodore's implemantation of the Trashcan was off the wall. Why have Trashcan be a directory on EVERY disk? If ever the Mac did anything better than the Amiga, this is one case. There should be ONE trashcan that is in NO way related to a specific disk. One should be able to drag ANY files to this Trashcan and empty the trash. Multiple trashcans? What the point of that?
