It is partly the fault of software developers. After installing Ventura
Publisher on an IBM, the installation software asks the user if he/she
wants the autoexec.bat (startup-sequence) changed to include the path/
assignment for the installed program. If Amiga software did this, there
wouldn't be so many problems with software installation for first time
users.
