I recently purchased the Practical Peripherals PM9600SA modem, v.32/v.42bis. Practical Peripherals is wholly owned by Hayes, I am told, and their modems are totally compatible. They come with a 5-year guarantee, and cost considerably less than many others. The list price on this modem is $699, but they can be purchased for about $450-475. Sysops can get them for $349. Their phone number is 818-706-0333. Incidentally - I love the modem.
