This was measured with DiskSpeed 3.1, and using high intensity with DMA and CPU stress modes had nearly no effect on the transfer rate. I think it's safe to say that the A3000's controller is faster than any drive you'll run into. By comparison: a CDC Wren III got 0.9 megabytes/sec, a Quantum 170S measured 1.05 megabytes/sec, and an H-P 1 gigabyte drive gave 1.5 megabytes/sec. -- Blaine Gardner @ Evans & Sutherland 580 Arapeen Drive, SLC, Utah 84108 blgardne@javelin.sim.es.com or blgardne%javelin@dsd.es.com ...dsd.es.com!javelin!blgardne or {decwrl, utah-cs}!esunix!blgardne DoD #0046 My other motorcycle is a Quadracer.
