You mention that you have a 660 MB disk. What model is it? Is it connected to the SCSI port of the WD7000 or the ESDI port? (the SCSI port is the one near the back panel of the board; the ESDI port(s) are near to the middle of the top of the board). Try booting the machine diskless from the SR10.3 boot tape. Shut the machine down, type DI C to set it to boot from the cartridge tape drive, and then type EX DOMAIN_OS to load up SR10.3 (this may wind up asking you if you want to replace the current S/W on the hard disk). If your disk is really a 660MB SCSI disk, there could conceivably be a bug in the disk driver code. I think most of the beta-test sites were running 155/348/697 MB ESDI disks at the time the beta-test of SR10.3 was conducted. -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter.mit.edu@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)
