Help would be greatly appreciated on any of the following:

-What can be done to make software run when launched from newer system
disks when it ran fine on older ones but now crashes?  

-I've run into a problem trying to launch some programs from my hard
disk.  If I boot a system disk from my 3.5 drive and then launch the
program from my hard disk, the program works fine.  However, when I
launch it straight from the hard drive it crashes.  This even happens
when I boot the same version (5.0.3) as I have on my hard disk.  Any
idea what causes this?

-I've been getting tool error $004C (tool not found or something like
that) sometimes when trying to boot off the hard drive.  What exactly
is this error and what causes it?  (I have all the tools installed)
