Although I work at the same university as John Upham, I don't know him,
so there's nothing personal here.

Why should 'game junk' be excluded from this newsgroup?  As I understand
it, the area is for all kinds of ST-related discussion except perhaps
for the recently hived-off 'tech' area.

I don't play Dungeon Master, so I tend to skip over messages about it. 
I can appreciate that people who have to pay directly to read news might
find messages about topics which don't interest them irritating, but I
don't think we should deliberately narrow the range of discussion.

if push came to shove i would also defend chucks atari revolution
lowercase punctuationless contributions as long as they are balanced by the
occasional leavening of chris mauritz cynicism ok folks i think ive said
enough for now
