Why did Atari require a daughterboard? I'm sensitive to this having just paid $275 to upgrade my ST from 1Mb to 2Mb. Of this, only $50 was for the extra RAM. $175 was for a daughterboard (including installation) and $50 to replace the 1Mb of RAM that had to be deactivated on the motherboard.
